Fleeting Moments

Founded by Toronto siblings Thomas and Sarah Sawaya, TigerBaby Coffee & Clay is a creative community space located at 977 College St West. Blending a passionate specialty cafe with two pottery studios, TigerBaby is a place which invites you to slow down, meet other creatives, and hang out.

We paid TigerBaby a visit and met with Sarah and Thomas, discovering a space that is as visually thoughtful as it is inviting. Every lamp, speaker, and paint colour has been carefully chosen by the pair, who have commissioned talented friends to help bring their vision to life.

We asked them to curate a collection of artworks that spoke to them.

Sarah, on the collection:

“This collection captures the fleeting moments of fall, shaped from natural ceramic materials and finished in colours drawn from the landscape around us. It reminds us of the simultaneous urge to hold onto the excitement of summer and while also surrendering to the slowness of fall. As golden sunlight peaks through the trees and leaves begin to change we are invited to slow down, be present and admire beauty around us.”
