Christopher He is a mixed-media artist based in Waterloo, working across ceramics, installation, print, and text. His practice begins with familiar objects, such as fortune cookies, vegetables, and everyday fragments, then shifts them into spaces of uncertainty, humour, and misrecognition. Drawing from personal memory, migration, language, and the experience of being read through assumptions, his work reflects on how identity is translated, repaired, and sometimes misunderstood. Through repetition, surface, and material transformation, He turns ordinary forms into quiet records of belonging, distance, and self-questioning.
