With eight years of academic training at the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and extensive experience in animation and landscape design, Ding seeks to apply her full range of knowledge and skills to revitalizing the traditional mural art of ancient China, as epitomized by the breathtaking works in the Dunhuang caves. Through extensive research and experimentation with traditional painting techniques, materials, and processes, she successfully recreates pieces that faithfully capture the distinct characteristics and aesthetics of millennium-old masterpieces. Ding believes that the spiritual depth of these subjects and their time-honored creation techniques hold profound relevance for our modern world, particularly in the AI and digital era.

In the long river of history, ancient craftsmanship always carries a mysterious and enchanting charm. The traditional art of clay panel making is one such millennia-old technique. It embodies not only the reverence and wisdom of our ancestors toward nature but also unfolds as a dialogue between time, patience, and art.

Each clay panel is born through multiple meticulous steps, entirely handmade, requiring a 10 to 15-day process—each piece unique in its own way.

Traditional clay panel making is more than a technique; it is a philosophy of living. In this fast-paced modern era, it reminds us to slow down and appreciate the beauty of every delicate detail.
