Guanyin Listening to the Dharma 观音听法图

Artist
Yu Ding
Description
After the famous Western Pure Land Transformation mural from Cave 220 at Dunhuang, this work depicts Guanyin (Avalokiteshvara), the Bodhisattva of Compassion, seated gracefully upon a lotus throne within the celestial realm of Amitabha's Pure Land. The jewel in Guanyin's right hand signifies compassion and spiritual blessings, while the lotus held in her left hand represents purity and awakening. Together, they embody Guanyin's promise to lead sentient being from suffering towards enlightenment.
