Manjusri's Attendance at the Assembly
- Artist
- Yu Ding
- Description
- Inspired by the mural in Cave 159 in Dunhuang, this work represents a scene of Manjusri, the Bodhisattva who governs wisdom, debating with Vimalakirti. Manjusri is riding a white lion with a blue mane and holding a sword in hand. The Bodhisattva’s big toe is turned upward, as if beating time in harmony with the rhythm of the music. Accompanied by the music, Manjusri moves forward serenely. (text adapted from the Dunhuang Academy)
