Carrie Chisholm
Carrie Chisholm is a Toronto-based, award-winning creative professional whose mixed-media practice explores the tension between desire, illusion, and fulfillment within contemporary visual culture. She studied Illustration, and Advanced Visual Studies at OCAD University's Toronto, Canada and Florence, Italy campuses before pursuing a Master in Fine Arts degree at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia.
Drawing from designer product photography and luxury advertising, Carrie reinterprets images of opulent objects through blind contour drawing, deliberately fracturing their polished perfection. She has recently evolved her practice to incorporate textile applications to the original drawing and painting components, and is looking forward to presenting a new series, entitled 'When Doves Cry' at this year's fair.
