Description

This mixed media on black velvet work depicts a bejewelled brooch made up of one solitary bird wearing a crown and sitting atop of a large light blue painted gemstone. It is rendered distortedly through blind contour drawing, with acrylic paint and textile applications, and cradled by folds of turquoise ribbon. The work was inspired by a Tiffany & Co. jewellery advertising campaign. The velvet is upholstery-quality. The work is unframed.
