Description

This mixed media on black velvet work depicts 5 bejewelled birds flying in a row, on the lower half of a necklace, with a large painted yellow gemstone dangling below them. They are rendered distortedly through blind contour drawing with acrylic paint and textile applications. The upper half of the necklace is affixed to the piece as a strand, dangling against and just below the work. It was inspired by a Tiffany & Co jewellery ad campaign. The velvet is upholstery-quality. The work is unframed.
