Oil painting of a fall laneway with a fence covered in colourful vines and a puddle reflecting turquoise sky.

A wall of leaves and a puddle of sky

Artist
Leslie Parker
Description
There's a moment in fall when a laneway fence disappears entirely — not because it's gone, but because the vines have completely taken it over. The whole left side of this painting is a great living wall of yellow, green, lime, pink, and red. A puddle on the pavement holds a piece of the turquoise sky, so the sky appears in two places at once — overhead, and resting on the ground. Part of my Toronto, Down the Rabbit Hole series.
