Description

The other plant cells look like individual bags of water squished together. Each has its own distinct cell wall, sometimes spherical, sometimes more brick-shaped. Tomatillo is unlike any other plant that I've looked at so far. It looks more like a structural matrix that the cell contents sit in. More like a household sponge.
