July 10-12, 2026 | Nathan Phillips Square

This is a circular stretched canvas mandala with a bird's nest and wold fur at its centre. Shells and acorns encircle the nest. Tied to the left side (as you face it) with a leather strap are two small branches that curve inand out of each other.

Anu's Mandala

Artist
Francie McGlynn
Description
Anu is the Divine Mother of the Irish gods. She is associated with the Earth and fertility. So much was lost with the rise of the patriarchal religions that whatever rituals were performed to and for Her are probably lost. Certainly I don't know of any. Mandalas symbolize the interconnectedness of life and time and this mandala honours this ancient goddess of my ancestors with shells from the sea and acorns from the sacred oak tree.
