Heritier Bilaka
Heritier Bilaka is a Canadian visual artist based in Ottawa. He has a bachelor's in visual art from the University of Ottawa, he participated in numerous exhibitions in Canada and abroad. He has been the recipient of numerous awards and grants. The award of Excellence: Future Makers by the University of Ottawa in 2025, the Laura Ciruls Painting Award by the Ontario Arts Foundation in 2024, two grants for research and creation from the Ottawa Arts Council and the Ontario Arts Council in 2024. In 2023, he was the recipient of Seed Award from the Fund for Equity and Inclusion in the Arts by the City of Ottawa, and in 2022 a grants for research and creation by the Ontario Arts Council. In 2023, he has been one of the jury members for the Ontario Arts Council grants program, then artist-in-residence at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery in New Brunswick. Many of his works are in public collections: City of Ottawa, the University of Toronto, Maron'Ages art gallery in Lyon, France, and the Maison de la Francophonie Ottawa. From private collections: Werner Horvath in Austrian and others collectors in Toronto, Ottawa and in Ancona, Italy.
