BURL 4 by Carolynn Bloomer

- Description

This vessel form is meant to evoke a burl, which is a bulbous tree growth usually caused by some environmental injury. The rusty metal projections, which mimic natural forms (tree fungi), are discarded man-made industrial objects (such as tin cans) created from material that was taken from the ground and is now going back to nature - a rumination on the blurry line between the “natural world” and our interactions with it.
