Description
The Four Sisters are a row of three-storey stone houses in St. John’s, Newfoundland, built in the late nineteenth century by prominent stonemason Samuel Garrett as wedding gifts for his daughters. Designated Registered Heritage Structures in 1988, they stand on a steep hill above the harbour, making the houses appear tilted when the ground is levelled. Robert stands in front of them in this photograph.
