July 10-12, 2026 | Nathan Phillips Square

An abstract image of different columns of colour that are mingled together. The columns of colour are ambiguous with a wide overlapping bottom, narrowing at the centre and then flowing more widely near the top. The shape is reminiscent of trees. There is also an organic green stream that weaves in and out of the narrow parts of the trunks.

Where Limpid Night and Water Meet - Marina Pinto Miller

Artist
Tangled Art + Disability
Description
This piece was created for an exhibit held alongside a live concert performance with members of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. The musicians asked: What might the music in the concert program look like, when both artist and composer alike, have the ability to see sound? I chose to paint the sound energies, (reflected in the painting title: “Where Limpid Night and Water Meet”), of Jean Sibelius, as expressed in his String Quartet in E Flat Major, 2nd movement.
