Description

Leah Evans is a visual artist from rural Alberta. Through figurative painting informed by family film strips and archival imagery, she engages with memories of her small-town upbringing and a familial history in the funerary services to examine the socio-political narratives, symbolic aesthetics, and quiet eeriness of prairie localities. Evans completed her BFA at the University of Lethbridge, and is currently pursuing an MFA at the University of Waterloo.
