Description

Jade Yuan is a multimedia artist based in Waterloo, Ontario. She draws inspiration from her experience as a biracial Chinese-Canadian woman and her
struggles with cultural dysphoria. Her highly detailed artworks combine watercolour, ink, and pencil crayon
to create narratives full of cultural motifs and symbolism. Her practice focuses on the complexities of a mixed-race identity and her journey
to acceptance, merging her Western upbringing with her pride as a Chinese woman.
