Medieval Two Handled Vase

Description

I love drawing historic and decorative pottery. This stitched artwork pays homage to a rare Italian tin glaze earthenware vase at the Courtauld Gallery that inspired me and made me wonder who it was made for. Light blue organdie and appliqué silks are embroidered freely with colourful threads using a basic domestic sewing machine as my drawing tool. The 6.5”x 8.75”embroidery is mounted within an acid free museum quality mat and framed within a contemporary white wood 11”x 13” frame
