(sold!) Yiddishe Shprintze

Artist
Sara Petroff
Description
Salvaged from a garage sale, these beautifully bound Yiddish texts have been given new life. I felt compelled to honour these books and the cultural memory they evoke. The bodice is from the spines written in Yiddish.  The striking blue coat with the gold and black trim from the front and back covers, with the pages of the books flowing out as the skirt below.
Her name "SHPRINTZE" in Yiddish means “HOPE".
