Canada’s leading contemporary outdoor and online art fair

Nathan Phillips Square July 7-9

(sold!) Copper Sunrise

Sara Petroff
After receiving a beautiful bouquet of flowers I dried them, with the intention of creating a special piece, delicately taking each dried flower apart, petal by petal.  And yes, they are DELICATE.

And the butterflies…each hand painted, cut with wings shaped for lift off. They are everywhere, amongst the flower petals, fluttering up the skirt and bodice, lifting our eyes and spirits. The colour palette is subtle, and sophisticated, replicating the hues of copper as they oxidize into verdigris.
