Tofino does grey and mist better than anywhere. No matter the cold, there are always people on the beach willing to dive in. Three surfers sit in the shallows, boards beneath them, a dog sauntering by, a low mountain dissolving into white behind them. Solo or among friends, serenity is a constant companion here.
