A green field filled with tall grass and small flowers, with a seated figure in black and a girl in white, creating a quiet and layered spring scene.

She He It

Artist
Jiaoyu Wu
Description
This painting is inspired by a walk I took on May 14 last spring at Garden City Lands in Vancouver. I came across a quiet and beautiful scene in the afternoon light that stayed with me.

The figure in black is based on a real person I saw, sitting alone in the grass. I later added the girl and the small house, creating a contrast between different presences in the same space.

The title “She, He, It” reflects this relationship — between people, environment, and something less defined.
