This painting is inspired by a trail I walked in Vancouver in early spring. The light felt soft and quiet, and the space between the trees created a sense of depth and stillness.

Along the way, I noticed small moments — people taking photos, walking their dogs, and moving quietly through the landscape. These everyday scenes added a sense of life within the stillness.

I worked from memory, using color and vertical forms to recreate the feeling of being inside that space — something gentle, open
