Description

This is a paper mâché and canvas mask with twigs, stones, glazed organic matter washed up from Lake Ontario, ribbon, a recycled wreath finished with glazed newsprint and mounted on an 18" x 18" painted and framed birchwood panel. The interior is glazed fabric, beads. It originally had ears of tiny shells I found in the Lake but I dropped the mask and they 'broke', hence the name. This mask was made to be used in a ritual even though that ritual does not exist.
