This portrait is created from a black and white photograph. The image is transferred onto fabric. I paint the world around the subject, blending memory and imagination.
Paper strips are layered between sheer textiles and individually free-motion stitched to create depth and texture. The piece is stretched over a board, transforming a personal memory into a unique mixed-media artwork.
