Temitayo Oketola is a Nigerian-born visual artist based in Toronto, Canada. Working primarily in oil paint, he explores solitude, memory, and reflection through carefully composed scenes illuminated by small, intentional sources of light.

Oketola approaches painting as a way of observing places and moments that might otherwise go unnoticed. Through close attention to atmosphere, light, and environment, he uses familiar settings to describe emotions and reveal the significance of ordinary experiences.

Shaped by memory, personal experience, and storytelling, his work captures the warmth of lamps, windows, distant city lights, and fading sunsets—subtle glows that emerge from darkness and reveal the richness that exists within it.

His paintings invite viewers into spaces of contemplation, encouraging them to pause, reflect, and discover their own meaning within the scene.
