Sylvia Prinos
As an emerging multimedia artist based in Markham, Ontario, my work explores the memories and experiences of growing up, either significant or mundane, that have created the person I am today. My work draws from memories and emotions of my childhood, using nostalgia, fears and loneliness as inspiration. I want to explore that vivid sense of imagination we all had as children, in hopes of rediscovering that creativity. Recently graduated from Sheridan College’s Advanced Visual and Creative Arts program, I have begun experimenting with new mediums and materials to further my understanding of my practice. I like to be as hands-on as I can. I build my own canvases and cut my own boards, preferring the physical action of making them, letting me be a part of the creative process from start to finish.
