Sherry Dube
I am a self-taught traditional artist whose work encompasses landscapes, florals, and wildlife. My art is characterized by its intricate detail and lifelike quality. With a deep appreciation for nature, I seek to capture the colors, moods, and atmosphere of the natural world. Drawing inspiration from the Ontario landscape, I spend considerable time photographing its diverse scenery, flora, and fauna, which serve as the foundation for my paintings. I strive to depict scenes with minimal human impact, showcasing nature's untouched beauty.
My wish is for those who view my work to gain a renewed sense of appreciation for the world around them, finding peace in its complex beauty.
For me, there is a unique satisfaction in knowing that viewers can "get lost" in the fine details of each piece. The beauty I find in nature around me is what inspires my work, and my desire to preserve this vision is what motivates me to create.
I became an elected member of the Ontario Society of Artists in 2024 and my work is found in many private collections across Canada.
I personally prepare all of my canvases by stretching them on custom keyed, professional stretcher bars. All of my canvas works are fully painted on the sides, coated with a removeable archival varnish and are ready to hang. Each original artwork includes a Certificate of Authenticity. If you are local and would like to view my paintings in person, please contact me via email so that we can set up a time!
