Sara Caracristi
Sara Caracristi is best known for her paintings depicting human figures in the urban environment from a bird’s eye perspective. By assuming an overhead vantage point, she retains control by unobtrusively documenting, hovering above the crowds, navigating through the chaos, to subsequently find patterns and relationships. Observing these behaviours and then transforming them into paintings is her way of connecting with others and reflecting on the social structures and behaviours that define society as a whole.
Sara spent her formative years in Riverview, New Brunswick and graduated with a Bachelor of fine Arts degree from NSCAD University in 2006. She has been involved in various group and solo exhibitions throughout Canada as well as international art fairs. Her work is in numerous private and corporate collections throughout North America and Europe. Some notable collections include, Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Scotiabank, TD Waterhouse Cooper, Department of Foreign Affairs and the Nova Scotia Art Bank amongst others. Sara currently works and resides as a full-time artist in Halifax Nova Scotia.
