Michelle Jamieson
Michelle Jamieson is a multidisciplinary artist hailing from Stratford, ON. With a B.F.A. from York University, she has spent the past 20 years conjuring up theatrical magic through her prop-making skills. In her off seasons, Michelle explored painting and sculpture before discovering ceramics—a medium she is now dedicated to pursuing full time. She recently completed the ceramics program at Fleming/Haliburton School of Art and Design, further honing her craft.
Her obsession with cats began in childhood and as she enjoys this muse she has discovered the hidden depths and messages that creating ceramics covered in cats can bring. The stories she creates with her allegorical cats reflect her own awkward life with all of its humour, mischeviousness, fears and imaganitive worlds. Michelle's life mission is clear; to cultivate joy through her art, one lump of clay at a time.
