Michael Xavier De Francesca (b. 1996, Toronto) is a Toronto-based digital abstract artist who creates bright, high-gloss works that explore the concept of digital imagery in physical space. He was raised by two working artists and grew up in a de facto home-studio, surrounded by experimentation and art production. Later, he studied biochemistry at Queen’s University before dropping out to pursue art.
Working with digital pigment prints mounted on painted panels and sealed in shimmering clear gloss, he transforms virtual compositions into luminous, tactile forms. His sculptural frames are integral rather than supplementary to the compositions, extending the digital space into the viewer’s environment, turning saturated colour, reflection and fluid motion into physical experiences. His practice merges analytical precision with visual experimentation—creating works that feel simultaneously digital, sculptural, and alive.
