Luci Gil
Luci is an Oakville-based goldsmith and jeweller creating hand-fabricated contemporary art that challenges the demand for conformity. Her work is defined by a meticulous process of precision-soldering thousands of very thin precious metal elements into intricate, non-repeating structures. These complex forms are a visual celebration of individual uniqueness and the beauty found in our differences.
Inspired by her journey living with what she calls a "fantastic and unconformed ADHD mind," Luci desires to support other women to celebrate their uniqueness and break the pattern of external expectations. While every piece is a reminder to honour one's own path, select designs also integrate discreet tactile features—such as spinning or rolling components. These 'fidgeting' elements provide a quiet anchor and sensory grounding.
Through her labour-intensive process, Luci creates wearable art that affirms personal resilience and the beauty of being truly one-of-a-kind.
