Lise Anne Janis
Working primarily with fluid acrylic on raw, unprimed, textured fabrics, I allow pigment to disperse and interact with the structure of the surface, creating work that develops slowly and intuitively. My practice is shaped by sustained attention to the natural world—particularly trees, landscapes, and the quiet forces that act upon land and water over time. My inspiration draws from nature’s underlying behaviours: movement, absorption, resistance, and gradual change. My work has been exhibited in several group exhibitions in South-Western Ontario. I hold a BA Honours from the School of Arts and Music, University of Guelph.
