Kyla Yager

Kyla is a Toronto based, New Orleans bred, award-winning Visual Artist. Working as a full-time artist with a passion painting and drawing, Kyla intuitively portrays emotions onto the canvas. As a queer ADHD artist, Kyla authentically creates compositions that capture her environment's energy while live painting, speed painting, face/body painting, and creating murals. Use of hyper-detail and layering shifts perspectives at every glance. Her style is maximalist, as repetition and pattern are her stimming, and the funky faces allow for the viewers to feel seen and accepted. Kyla empowers her audience through her "eyes of empathy" by creating safe spaces to unmask emotions through fine art.
Kyla has been drawing and painting since early childhood, leading to a consistent art practice for over 25 years. She received her BFA in Visual Art from York University in 2018, then completed OCAD’s Fineline Business Accelerator Certification in Summer 2023. Commissions are open.
