My astrophotography work captures the wonders of the cosmos in the tranquility of the night - the rising moon and stars, the brilliance of the Milky Way, meteors streaking across the sky, chance encounter of a comet with Planet Earth, and the majestic northern lights. Each piece is carefully planned to capture the astronomical phenomena against Canadian landscape, and comes with scientific information to help my audience fully appreciate the marriage of art and science in my work.
I started photography back in the film days. My recent work focuses on astrophotography, and natural and urban landscape. My work has won awards at juried art shows and national photography competitions, and has been selected to represent Canada in international photography contests. I am a Canadian Association for Photographic Art (CAPA) certified judge. To give back to the photography community, I run a photo evaluation group, and workshops and presentations on various topics on photography.
