Booth 321-322

James Kennedy is a Montreal-based artist working primarily with steel. Through oxidation painting, laser-cut openings and industrial fabrication techniques, he creates wall sculptures that explore the relationship between territory, memory and the built environment.

His work is inspired by geographical forms, waterways, islands, lakes and iconic bridges. By transforming steel into images that balance precision and material transformation, he examines the connections between landscape, industry and collective identity.

Kennedy has exhibited at major art fairs in Canada and the United States, including the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair, Artist Project Toronto and The Other Art Fair in Chicago and Brooklyn. In 2023, he was selected as a winner of the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated competition for the reuse of steel from Montreal's original Champlain Bridge.
