Greg Holman
As a color-blind artist, I work in black, white, and grey tones that speak more clearly to me than color ever could. While I perceive some colors, others vanish entirely, so monochrome offers clarity, not constraint. What’s seen as a limitation becomes my strength, guiding me to explore mood through tone, contrast, and motion. My work centers on transformation—visual and emotional shifts shown through glowing orbs that symbolize guidance, transition, and quiet companionship. These forms drift through ethereal, planetary landscapes, echoing inner and outer journeys. I paint with acrylic on wood panels using layered techniques: compressing, spritzing, dragging, knifing, and brushing. Each mark adds movement and texture, building a surface in flux. I invite viewers into a space where perception expands, and transformation unfolds beyond traditional sight.
