Azeem is a Toronto-based jewelry artist and the founder of Nūrain, a fine jewelry practice rooted in story, symbolism, and craftsmanship.

My journey as an artist has been shaped by a commitment to creating and sharing meaning and identity. In Arabic, nūr نور means light, while ain عين refers to the eye. Together, Nūr and Ain calls the searching eyes towards the light, an idea that I try to reflect in all my work.

I create jewelry through a process that begins with a story, stories of heritage, faith, love, and intention. My work is rooted in a reverence for the history of craftsmanship, and I draw inspiration from centuries-old motifs and influences that I reinterpret for a contemporary wearer. Working with traditional art forms, like reed pen caligraphy, alongside modern jewellery design techniques, each piece is made to carry meaning, inviting the wearer into a relationship with beauty, history, and the sacred.
