This playful composition is of creative birds imagined preparing their sewing notions ready to stitch and mend. They are enjoying being outside in the magical garden on a lovely day. The white linen ground is embroidered freely with thread using a basic domestic sewing machine as a drawing tool; building up the textures, patterns and colours in the embroidery.
