Description

This is a piece of reflection, healing and survival. Because of the media, (television and social) voices of my people have been heard. Stories have been shared and the victims of the "sixties scoop" where indigenous children were forcefully taken from their homes and families and put into residential schools.
This is a painting of a residential school survivor who is resiliently fighting to overcome her trauma by telling her story, spreading awareness and making sure this never happens again.
