Influenced by the 'secret' Japanese textile art of Saganishiki, found photographs or appropriated art historical images are cut into fine paper strands and interwoven with shimmering metallic and holographic threads, to evoke notions of spirit, the numinous, the sacred. Mounted onto a cradled panel covered with gold Japanese paper. The digital camera struggles to correct for the intended glint of myriad points of spectral light reflected by the holographic thread; much more lively in real life!
