Unframed. When We Go to the Ocean is a return to a painting, Jethro Tull Coreopsis, that I painted for my entry that came to fruition in the 2009 RBC Canadian Painting Competition. The concept was a stem and a flower and I utilized the patterns from historical patchwork quilts. Paired with, When We Go to the Sky, it makes a diptych. I see the shape as a thought bubble. It is what we say when planning a vacation. “When we go to the ocean, we will ______.”
