The Board of the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair is delighted to announce that Anahita Azrahimi has joined as Executive Director. As a visual artist and experienced arts manager, Anahita is uniquely qualified to steward the organization as we celebrate artistic talent by providing platforms for public engagement, education, and appreciation of art. Our 55th annual outdoor art exhibition will benefit hundreds of artists, diverse public audiences and Toronto tourism. We welcome Anahita and hope you will join us on the Square at Toronto City Hall July 8-10, 2016.
Anahita Azrahimi is a visual artist and professional arts manager. As an artist, she creates abstract collage paintings by seamlessly mixing shapes and patterns of folds and draperies found in fashion editorials into textured abstract paintings. Her love of collage has inspired her to commit to a year-long #collagediet challenge, where she creates an original collage each day. Anahita’s works are held in private collections across Europe and North America.
As an arts manager, Anahita is passionate about helping arts organizations and independent artists realize their goals and potential with high-impact and simple solutions. She has had the pleasure of working with established arts organizations and talented artists in Toronto such as Creative Trust, Theatre Direct and Dancemakers. She sits on the advisory board of Theatre Direct’s International WeeFestival, and the Arts Management program at Centennial College. She has served on the board of Modern Times Stage Company, the steering committee of CPAMO (Cultural Pluralism in the Arts Movement), and served as a juror for Dora Mavor Moore Awards – Dance section, and the Ontario Arts Council.

As an independent artist who has worked to build her own business, I am as passionate as one can be about opportunities that celebrate artistic excellence, help nurture an artist’s entrepreneurial spirit, and encourage public accessibility to fabulous art. It’s even better if these opportunities don’t cost an arm and a leg to participate in! Toronto Outdoor Art Fair is all those things and more. Imagine my excitement when I found out I get to be part of Canada’s largest and longest running outdoor art exhibition! I have certainly found my perfect match and it is an honour to become a member of this dedicated team of board members and staff.
