I didn’t have many expectations when I signed up for the 59th Edition of Toronto Outdoor Art Fair. I only wished to leave with a positive experience, meet new art lovers, and grow awareness around my artwork. It also never hurts to make a few sales! Well, TOAF ended up opening doors that led me to opportunities I could have never imagined.
In this same year, a producer was at the Fair, inviting artists like myself to apply for a Call for Artists for a chance to participate on a new CBC show called Landscape Artist of the Year Canada. I followed up and followed through, not knowing where it might lead. A few months later, to my utter astonishment, I found myself overlooking the picturesque Muskoka lake, paint brush in hand… at the very spot the Group of Seven once painted!
I had made it on to the television show, and as Luck would have it–I ended up winning! My experience would truly not have been possible had I not been at TOAF, and informed of the opportunity. This was only one of the many positive, unique experiences I’ve had at the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair…
