Tom Broen is an artist working mainly in acrylic paints depicting the interaction of urban spaces, infrastructure and nature. He captures the quiet beauty of often-overlooked spaces that have transformed over time, and will continue to do so. At the same time, he seeks to bring attention to how economic and environmental values have shaped how urban spaces are used. Tom's interest in depicting these subjects has been developed through working in the field of public infrastructure as well as travel to cities around the world. Tom recently relocated to Hamilton to focus more on his career as an artist, and to document that city’s evocative and changing urban landscapes.
