About Syra Hassan
Syra Hassan is a Pakistani-Canadian self-taught artist who discovered a passion for artivism. Her artwork centres on issues of language deprivation, inequity in education, and discrimination.
In 2019, she had initiated the "Hear Me Sign" campaign to raise global awareness on the importance of early language acquisition for Deaf children.
Syra began artivism as a means of healing with the misadventures and tribulations of early childhood education.
She works primarily with colour standard poster boards, paper, and photography to create intricate protest signs.
