Rebecca van Gennip (b. 2001) is an alla-prima oil painter based in Jackson’s Point, Ontario. She just completed her Bachelor of Fine Art Honours degree at Queen’s University, with a major in Visual Art and a minor in Art History. Rebecca specializes in interior scenes and still-life that explore themes of grief, home, and the transience of time. Dutch seventeenth-century painters inform the connection to her Dutch heritage. Their emotionally charged colour palettes and domestic interiors inspire her to reinvent them in contemporary ways.
