Since 2018, artist Nile has been captivating Toronto residents and tourists with his intricate paintings in high-traffic areas of the city, including Yonge-Dundas Square, Yorkville, St. Lawrence Market, Kensington Market, High Park, and most recently, the TTC. Nile, who is of Sudanese descent, moved to Canada at age twelve from and is now a student of material art and design at OCAD University.

Nile began his artistic journey with acrylic paint, transitioning to oil painting in 2022. His deep passion for live painting led him to create detailed artwork on the streets of Toronto from the early age of twelve. Nile's recent project inside a TTC subway car garnered significant attention, as he boldly sat inside a subway train and painted the dynamic environment while engaging with curious commuters.

His work often explores themes of daily life in Toronto, with a particular focus on public transportation and everyday life exploring the history's associated with his work and a desire to paint works that evoke emotion by using dramatic brush strokes and a calculated use of color. Nile's dedication to his craft and his desire to include the public in his artistic process are evident in his interactive and immersive projects. Nile's transit-related artworks and city scenes highlight his ambition to merge art with everyday urban experiences, creating a connection between his paintings and the lives of those who encounter them.
