Nasim Makaremi Nia
She is graduated with an MSc in solid-state Physics, also she is studying MFA at MUN’s Grenfell campus. She is an artist originally from Iran and currently lives in Newfoundland. She is working with painting, drawing, printmaking, and textiles. Her Physics background helps in the development of her art as well. She has shown works in several group exhibitions. Her art is focused on subjects such as humanity, and the lives and emotions of women. She uses animals and some special products like tampons and sanitary pads as symbols to deal with sexuality with the intent to magnify gender discrimination and censorship.
