Nature inspires me, in all its manifestations, landscapes, creatures and elements. Nature can even suggest the design for a painting — an old truck festering in a field next to a cranberry marsh ready for harvest. I find inspiration, as well in the remarkable colour and vibrancy of urban life, moments captured in ravines -- the wild in the city --and gardens and buildings that speak to a history that resonates. I want anything I paint to move people, in a small or big way.
